Research interest:
The main area of my research interests is focusing on neurodegeneration, neuroprotection and neurorestorative especially the death and survival signaling cascades in neuronal cells and the protective roles of melatonin on neurodegeneration. My current research project is studying the role of methamphetamine-induced neurological and neuropsychological deficits related to cognitive impairment in cellular mechanisms, animal models and humans. I also study the regulation of tryptophan metabolism as a potential target to prevent neurodegeneration and cognitive impairments in the methamphetamine toxicity-induced neuroinflammation model.
