With Mahidol Vaccine Development Consortium, our current research focuses on development of hand foot and mouth disease vaccine. We have screened for the causative strains of hand foot and mouth disease including Enterovirus 71 and Coxackievirus which provides broad cross protection against variant strains to be developed as the inactivated vaccine against hand foot and mouth disease. In parallel, as part of the Molecular Pathology Laboratory, I have been investigating the dengue virus and host cell interactions including the step of viral entry and host cell response to viral infection to understand dengue viral pathogenesis .
