Mini-Symposium on “Cryo-electron microscopy for therapeutic development”
Institute of Molecular Biosciences, Mahidol University in collaboration with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), organized an international conference, the Mini-Symposium on “Cryo-electron Microscopy for Therapeutic Development,” on July 17, 2024, at Sirivadhanabhakdi Building, Mahidol University Alumni Association under the Royal Patronage, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
The symposium was attended by approximately 80 participants, including students and staff from Mahidol University and external participants from both the public and private sectors interested in the three-dimensional structural analysis of biomolecules using Cryo-electron Microscopy and Cryo-EM technology. The event featured a Mini-Symposium on July 17, 2024, followed by a visit to the Cryo-electron Microscopy facility at Mahidol University ‒ Frontier Research Facility (MU ‒ FRF) on July 18, 2024.
The event was honored by experts in protein structure research for drug and biopharmaceutical development, including:
1. Prof. Zihe Rao from Tsinghua University
2. Dr. Seungil Han from Pfizer Inc.
3. Prof. Katsumi Maenaka from Hokkaido University
4. Prof. Zhi-Jie James Liu from ShanghaiTech University
5. Dr. Eric Fung Chen from Thermo Fisher Scientific
6. Assoc. Prof. Sarin Chimnaronk from the Institute of Molecular Biosciences
In addition to disseminating knowledge and developing the expertise of Thailand’s personnel in three-dimensional structural analysis of biomolecules using Cryo-electron Microscopy, as well as fostering international collaboration among researchers in the field of Cryo-electron Microscopy.
