I was fortunate to work under a professor who shared with me a sense of curiosity, an interest in original research of lasting significance, and a general love of science. We have confidence that our work, though somewhat controversial in our field of interest (flaviviral replication), will eventually be fully accepted as correct. We can take great satisfaction in overthrowing a paradigm that has stubbornly persisted for 15 years and counting.

Outside of research activities, I can say that life has been quite enjoyable. The campus is loaded with parks and ponds, coffee shops, and a variety of delicious and inexpensive Thai food. There are plenty of opportunities for fitness activities too. My personal favorite on-campus activity would be attending the frequent performances of the Thai Philharmonic Orchestra at Prince Mahidol Hall; the performances are world-class, and the selections can be surprisingly nuanced.

Kenneth now works as a postdoctoral fellow at Chulalongkorn University.
