Workshop: “Solving a Murder Mystery: The DNA Detective”
On September 4–5, 2024, The Institute of Molecular Biosciences, Mahidol University, is hosting a workshop titled “Solving a Murder Mystery: The DNA Detective” for high school students from Wattana Wittaya Academy interested in health sciences. This workshop provides students with hands-on experience in research laboratories and an introduction to basic molecular genetics techniques such as DNA fragment synthesis using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), a method used to amplify DNA fragments in vitro, and DNA fragment size separation using agarose gel electrophoresis. Participants will also learn about the application of molecular genetics techniques in health sciences and forensic science.
